Their comprehensive, evidence-based approach incorporates medical, nutritional, and psychological support to help clients achieve long-term recovery. We are seeking a licensed Primary Therapist to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. The Primary Therapist will provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. This position requires an individual with strong clinical skills and experience working with a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions for clients in the program.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on individual client needs and goals.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, dietitians, and other mental health professionals, to ensure the best possible care for each client.
Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
Provide crisis intervention and support to clients as needed.
Participate in weekly team meetings and provide updates on client progress.
Stay current with best practices and developments in the field of eating disorder treatment.
Requirements:
Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
Current licensure as a mental health professional in the state of Alabama (LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
Experience providing individual and group therapy to clients with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities for eating disorders, such as CBT-E, DBT, and ACT.
Understanding of the medical and nutritional aspects of eating disorders.
