My client is a leading provider of specialized care for individuals struggling with eating disorders and related mental health conditions. Their comprehensive, evidence-based approach incorporates medical, nutritional, and psychological support to help clients achieve long-term recovery.
We are seeking a licensed Primary Therapist to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. The Primary Therapist will provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. This position requires an individual with strong clinical skills and experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions for clients in the program.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on individual client needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, dietitians, and other mental health professionals, to ensure the best possible care for each client.
  • Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients as needed.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and provide updates on client progress.
  • Stay current with best practices and developments in the field of eating disorder treatment.
  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Current licensure as a mental health professional in the state of Alabama (LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy to clients with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities for eating disorders, such as CBT-E, DBT, and ACT.
  • Understanding of the medical and nutritional aspects of eating disorders.
